bayernets GmbH is the transmission system operator in Bavaria. As part of the European gas transmission system, we transport gas through Southern Germany efficiently, safely and in an environmentally friendly way. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do.
We make a central contribution to the security of supply in our network area. By operating our pipelines safely, optimising our grid in line with demand and developing our network sustainably, we ensure a high-performance transmission network.
We are shaping the energy transition and already setting the course for transporting hydrogen as an important building block in the energy system of the future.
We assume an active role in developing the general conditions for our current and future tasks in the energy industry. It is important for us to think for and with our customers and partners about efficient expansion and modernisation of our transmission system.

Securing the future. With our gas transmission system, we sustainably secure the future of Germany as a centre of commerce and industry. We ensure a reliable supply of energy for our customers at all times. As a gas hub, Germany is of greatest importance for the security of supply in Europe. With our connection to the international gas network, we guarantee the supply of gas beyond national borders, now and in the future. With a view to the future, we take responsibility and make our contribution to the implementation of the Energiewende. Our gas infrastructure enables a spatiotemporal flexibility of the energy supply and is therefore a fundamental pillar for the German energy system of the future. National and global energy and climate protection scenarios clearly show: renewable and decarbonised gases such as hydrogen will be a cornerstone of the energy transition and climate protection in the future. bayernets is ready to make its contribution to the successful development of a hydrogen economy.
For our customers. We provide all shippers with non-discriminatory pipeline capacity and guarantee efficient network access, our basic premise being: our customers are our partners. Cooperation with our partners based on trust goes without saying – our partners include transmission system operators, distribution system operators, power plants and industrial customers. We take the wishes of our customers seriously and we are committed to supporting them, also beyond our own network. With great success: we deliver innovative and tailor-made solutions, providing modern infrastructure systems that do justice to the requirements of our customers.
In dialogue. In continuous national and European dialogue, we provide important impetus. We find solutions for the requirements brought to us by our customers. Today´s energy market never stands still. Together with our partners, we are developing specific scenarios for providing future-viable shipping capacity.
