In principle, depending on location and technical parameters, network connection for biogas plants to bayernets’ gas transmission system is given priority and non-discriminatory access. bayernets is happy to support and advise you in the implementation of your project. For biogas plant operators, the provisions set out in Sections 33 of the GasNZV* are applicable for the network connection.

*The provisions of the GasNZV are currently undergoing legislative change. Article 15(6) of the Act of 22 December 2023 “on the adaptation of energy law to European Union requirements and on the amendment of further provisions of energy law” provides for the repeal of the entire GasNZV as of 31 December 2025. However, Section 118(4) of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) stipulates that, provided the conditions specified therein are met by 30 June 2026, Sections 33(1) to 33(9) of the GasNZV shall continue to apply. Accordingly, the provisions of the GasNZV remain in force only to the extent and for as long as their continued applicability is provided for under the EnWG.

It is fundamentally possible to inject biogas into bayernets´grid along the whole gas transmission system. When you request connection to our grid, bayernets checks the technical requirements case-by-case at the desired network connection point.

Injecting biogas into our grid generally requires checking the compatibility of the mixed gas with the gas quality specifications in accordance with current regulations and its interoperability with network customers directly or indirectly connected to the grid.
